We offer emergency care to patients of our practice. If one of our patients has a dental emergency that cannot wait until normal business hours, we are frequently able to address those needs outside of normal business hours. Examples of some of these emergency situations are listed below.
Extractions: A tooth extraction is when a tooth is removed from its socket in the bone. This can be for a number of different reasons. A tooth is usually extracted when it is beyond repair, or is causing further damage to the other teeth in your mouth. Sometimes the extraction is more simple than others that might require surgical extraction. Most extractions are done using a local anesthesia or other drugs to help numb and relax the patient.
Root Canals: A root canal is a dental treatment that removes the infection from the inside of the tooth. This procedure also helps prevent future infections within that tooth. This treatment is typically thought to be very painful, but in reality it is a pain relieving treatment that will better you in the end. A root canal can be preventative and is a less costly option than replacing a tooth, or having it removed completely.
Crown: A crown is also known as a dental cap. This is a procedure that helps to restore and strengthen the tooth. The crown will either cap or completely encircle the tooth. They are often needed when cavities threaten the health of your teeth. Crowns are prepared by dentists to fit perfectly to your teeth and designed to look just like the others.
