I've been to my fair share of dentists and this was by far the best experience I've had yet. I came to this office 3 days ago as a new patient and am so very pleased with the care I've received thus far. I went in yesterday to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted and 3 cavities filled and was in and out in 2 hours. These guys are fast and efficient! The receptionist I dealt with last night was not very polite or professional but that had no bearing on the care I received past the front desk. I was having the procedure done without sedation and was extremely nervous. Dr. Bell was great at doing everything he could to make sure I was comfortable and not experiencing any pain. I absolutely love him and the direct patient care staff! Hate him for making my face hurt, but still love him nonetheless :) I'm so glad that I've found a dentist that I feel like I can trust and seems to truly care about his patients!

Dentures

Turn Back the Clock On Your Smile

A denture is a removable dental appliance created to fill the spaces left by missing teeth and surrounding tissue. Dentures keep the mouth fully functional when one or more teeth are missing.

When considering solutions to restore your smile from missing teeth, the advantage of dentures over implants are;

  • Less costly
  • Rarely require surgery
  • Easy to remove and clean
  • Requires no preceding treatments such as bone regeneration

If Dental Implants are of no interest to you or are an untenable treatment due to insurance limitations or deficient bone structure; dentures may be your only solution.

There are two types of dentures. Each type has its own pros and cons. RiverWest Dentists will consider your needs and recommend what is best for you to help minimize frustrations for new denture wearers.  Whether dentures will work for you depends largely on your lifestyle and goals for your appearance and function of your Whole Health smile.

Partial Denture

With just one tooth or several teeth missing, chewing and smiling become more difficult because of the gaps left in their absence. Partial dentures are an economical solution to replace missing teeth and fill in those spaces. They keep your natural teeth from sliding into these gaps and lowers the risk of losing further teeth in the future. A complete set of teeth brings back your chewing ability and a renewed sense of confidence to your smile.

A partial denture is supported by your natural teeth. Partial dentures contain a metal framework with a thin wire bar that rests close to your gums to give you a smooth, non-bulky, natural look and feel. Easy to use clasps secure the appliance to provide a reliable and secure use of the denture for every activity. Natural looking replacement teeth are attached to this frame and cosmetic work is done to match the color of both your teeth and gums to blend in with your natural smile.

Advanced technology allows implants to be used as support for removable partial dentures. Implants improve the fit of dentures while reducing the overall size of the appliance.

Complete Dentures

Sometimes dental conditions, such as tooth decay or gum disease, can become unmanageable. This may lead to the decision to remove your remaining teeth on one or both jaws. Full dentures are an economical and efficient way to restore the function of your mouth and smile.

A complete denture consists of a thin acrylic base that rests on the gum tissue with porcelain or acrylic replacement teeth attached at the base. All parts of the denture, including the gum area, are designed and colored to match your unique mouth. RiverWest Dental has experienced dentists to help you select the teeth that appear the most natural and harmonious with your smile.

Let’s Talk About Implants

Dentures boast a long history of successful use. However, modern technology offers a better option with dental implants. Dental implants help secure dentures to the jaw to stop them from falling out (especially when blowing out those birthday candles) and rubbing on the gums. Implanted dentures also tend to obtain a more natural look and last longer. RiverWest Dentists will discuss your options and help you understand how dental implants improve your experience with dentures.
